Multiple Sclerosis
MS specific programs for all stages and ages, from newly diagnosed to later stages.
MS can present with a wide range of symptoms, including fatigue, weakness, sensory changes, pain, spasticity, poor balance, reduced mobility, heat sensitivity, vestibular deficits, visual disturbances, bladder and bowel changes and reduced quality of life. This means an individualised approach with neurological experienced physiotherapists is paramount.
MS Get A Head Start
MS Get A Head Start is an innovative and internationally recognised program designed to educate and empower people with knowledge and skills to live a fitter and healthier life with MS.
As the only licensed provider of the program in Coffs Harbour, we are the leaders in this space locally.
If you have MS and are affected by fatigue, exercise is probably the last thing you want to think about. During this program, we teach you the right way to exercise with MS and avoid increased fatigue, giving you the confidence to overcome barriers to exercise and help you maximise your potential.
The best way to get started is with a brief, intensive introductory program, followed by a 6 week group program. Learn more about MS Get a Head Start at https://www.ms-ghs.com.
We offer both land-based and hydrotherapy-based groups.
MS Maintenance group
Offered following the 6 week MSGHS program as an opportunity to maintain your gains and increase your exercise variety under supervision of an experienced Neuro Physiotherapist and alongside your peers (both land and hydro groups available).
Later Stage MS group
Our later stage MS program targets issues that arise more in the later stages of MS, including balance, mobility and cognitive decline.
Our specific ‘later stage MS group’ caters for those with more complex needs, working with someone on an individual basis to target their specific needs.
