Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)
Understanding your condition. Supporting your recovery.
At Coffs Neuro Physio, we recognise that living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) can be confusing, frustrating, and often misunderstood. You may have struggled to find clinicians who not only understand FND, but who can offer meaningful and evidence-informed support. We’re here to change that.
FND is a condition where there is a disruption in how the brain sends and receives signals, resulting in real and distressing symptoms such as movement changes, limb weakness, gait difficulties, tremors, speech issues, non-epileptic seizures, or sensory loss. These symptoms are not caused by structural damage to the nervous system, but they are very real — and recovery is possible.
Our team has experience in supporting people with FND, and we take a person-centred approach to therapy. We understand that no two cases are the same, so we focus on individualised, practical strategies to help you regain control, build confidence, and re-engage in everyday activities.
Our goals are to:
- Help you understand your condition and how it affects you
- Provide rehabilitation strategies that promote movement, function, and participation
- Address barriers such as fear, fatigue, and inconsistent symptoms
- Work in collaboration with Neuropsychologists and medical teams when needed
You are not alone in this. Our approach is compassionate, structured, and empowering — focused on helping you build progress, one step at a time.
