Nordic Walking
Benefits for both neurological and non-neurological populations.
Nordic Walking is a popular physical activity that has shown many research-proven benefits across many populations. It is a low-impact activity that uses specifically designed poles to add a ‘boost’ to your normal walking, whilst maintaining your natural, coordinated pattern.
In the non-neurological population, Nordic Walking is used to improve fitness and facilitate recovery from injuries. In many neurological conditions, it can be used as an effective walking retraining tool.
In all cases, Nordic Walking must be taught by a certified Nordic Walking instructor. Our therapists have been certified through International Nordic Walking Australia and we work collaboratively with Nordic Walking Australia. This, in combination with our experience in Neurological rehabilitation, will ensure you gain maximum benefit from your Nordic Walking.
