Stroke and Brain Injury
Targeted, evidence-informed rehabilitation for life after brain injury.
Brain injuries can occur as a result of stroke, trauma, brain tumours, infections, or lack of oxygen to the brain. The effects can vary significantly — impacting physical function, cognition, speech and language, perception, social interaction, and behaviour. At Coffs Neuro Physio, we understand how complex this recovery can be, and we’re here to help guide the journey.
Our team of experienced Neuro Physiotherapists and a Speech Pathologist work together to deliver therapy that is meaningful, goal-directed, and backed by evidence. With the right strategies, support, and intensity, the brain can adapt and re-learn lost skills.
Individualised Therapy to Drive Neuroplasticity
We use structured therapy approaches that emphasise:
- Intensity and repetition
- Variation and challenge
- Clear goal-setting
- Minimising complications such as muscle tightness, weakness, falls, or respiratory issues
Following a comprehensive assessment, your therapist will work with you to develop a personalised rehabilitation plan that targets your priorities — such as walking, arm function, balance, communication, swallowing or everyday activities.
If appropriate, we may also recommend one of our intensive therapy blocks, group-based rehab sessions, or involvement from our Allied Health Assistant to help you practise more regularly and safely.
