Lower Limb Therapy
Targeted rehabilitation to improve walking, strength, and lower limb control.
The ability to stand, walk, and move safely is essential for independence — and often a key goal for people recovering from neurological conditions. At Coffs Neuro Physio, our Lower Limb Therapy programs are designed to improve strength, control, balance, and mobility in the hips, legs, knees, and feet.
Our experienced neuro physiotherapists work with adults living with stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurological conditions. Whether you’re relearning to walk after an injury or aiming to improve your balance and reduce falls, we tailor therapy to your needs and goals.
We assess the full picture of your lower limb function — including muscle strength, joint range, gait pattern, foot clearance, balance, and postural control — and design a rehabilitation program that is practical, challenging, and achievable.
Our therapy approach draws on the latest research in neuroplasticity, motor learning, and task-specific training. This may include:
- Strengthening and activation exercises for weak or underused muscles
- Gait re-training with or without walking aids
- Balance and postural control training to reduce fall risk
- Practice on stairs, uneven surfaces, and real-world settings
- Use of technology and supports, including bracing or orthotic consultation when required
We also run Lower Limb Intensive Programs, offering focused therapy over a short period to maximise gains in walking speed, endurance, and safety.
Improving your lower limb function can unlock greater independence and participation in everyday life. We’re here to help you take the next step – safely and confidently.
